Scrivens finance director retires

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care finance director David Harris has retired after 19 years’ service with the Birmingham-based firm.

Harris, who joined Scrivens as financial controller in 1998 and led a team of 16, received a gold watch and gifts including an engraved pointing trowel at his leaving presentation.

As part of his retirement he will commit two days per month to Scrivens as a non-executive director.

He said: ‘Scrivens is a very well-run company which has continued to expand and which has been incredibility supportive to me. I will miss the challenges of the job and the camaraderie. I’ve enjoyed being part of it and seeing how people I have worked with have grown in their skills and confidence.’
