Chris Hirst has joined Shamir UK as area lens consultant for the North East.
Hirst qualified as a dispensing optician in 1994 from Bradford and Ilkley Community College and has developed a career within the Rayner Group, most recently as its northern sales director.
Shamir said Hirst was a firm believer in offering patients the highest possible standards of eye care. Hirst added: ‘When spectacles are needed, this should be facilitated by providing the best products that are most suitable for the patient’s requirements. This is why I’m so excited about joining Shamir. With such an innovative and extensive portfolio of lenses I feel that I can really support eye care professionals by offering solutions for all of their patients’ needs.’
Shamir has also announced the winners of its prize draws held in conjunction with Transitions Optical at last month’s Optrafair London. Danuta Fidyka, Paul Gallivan and Harry Craig-London all won Apple iPad Air tablets, while Jane Dexter and Paul Jeffries receive Sony Playstation 4 game consoles.
