Shape Finder 2.0 gives MEI the edge

Italian equipment manufacturer MEI has released an optical scanner addition for its new EzFit edger.

The Shape Finder 2.0 scanner has been designed increase functionality and allows the EzFit to prepare the edging process for sport and special-requirement lenses.

The device is integrated into the MEI Tecnocam programming platform, used in every MEI edger, to avoid common errors of standard camera-based units. The camera lens set and the lighting system have been designed to emphasise the edge profile in any kind of lens ? clear or dark mirrored ? and to eliminate the perspective effects and field distortions. The Tecnocam software interacts directly with the Shape Finder 2.0 interface to align the lens and extract the different shapes starting from the outer main shape and converting them into a standard TRX file.
