No7 Contact Lenses launches new scleral lens for irregular corneas

Practitioners were invited to the Shard, near London Bridge last week, for the launch of a new scleral lens for irregular corneas by No7 Contact Lenses.

ICD FlexFit 16.3mm was introduced to contact lens specialists by co-designer Randy Kojima, based in Vancouver.

The Flexfit was designed for the most complex cases of patients with keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, post-refractive surgery issues, ocular surface disease and corneal transplants.

Kojima said: ‘This lens gives us control, saves chair time and offers superb vision and longer wearing time. It creates a more forgiving fit too.

‘It doesn’t matter how irregular the eye is – even with bulging grafts – the ICD FlexFit will bring the comfort of a soft lens and the vision of a GP. Less symmetry normally needs a bigger lens to create a bigger dome over the surface. For this reason the ICD FlexFit is available in diameters from 14.5mm to 17mm in 0.1mm increments.’
