Big-hearted Dollond & Aitchison staff have helped the retail giant win a Gold Award for fostering charity donations in the workplace.
On hand to present the Payroll Giving Quality Mark was the Right Honourable Clare Short MP for Birmingham Ladywood.
She congratulated D&A on its award and said payroll giving was something all employers should be involved in. Accepting the award are chief executive Andy Ferguson (right) and HR director John Mumford.
The trio used the occasion to encourage other employers to make payroll giving more easily available to their staff. During 2005 D&A employees raised 23,754.40 through payroll giving. Mumford said the scheme was easy to set up and run and 11 per cent of its staff took part.
From the end of this month D&A has pledged to add a further 10 per cent to all donations made by its staff.
