Sight Care Group has launched its 2015 campaign to raise the profile and promote the values of independent practices for the sixth consecutive year.

Its campaign last year reached 15 million people through nearly 100 pieces of press coverage, a statement said.

Sight Care chief executive Paul Surridge said: ‘Some 37 radio interviews were undertaken discussing the use of screen technology and effects on vision, the importance of children’s eye care and the incidence of road accidents often caused by poor vision.

‘When we made the decision six years ago to mount a national PR campaign to raise the profile of independents in local communities we had no idea how effective the campaign would be.’
