The company claimed a 46 per cent increase in registration over last year's series of meetings. The 10-venue roadshow started at the beginning of this month, with the registered total nearing 600.
'This is our fifth year of taking our meetings programme to the regions,' Sight Care's chief executive Paul Surridge said this week, 'and the response has been terrific.
'There is no doubt that independent practitioners are ready to listen to ideas about business improvement and achieving excellence.'
He promised that the next business meeting of the group Ð on March 1 next year Ð would 'arguably be the largest business forum for independents in the UK'.
It is expected that 500 delegates will attend when Sight Care stages its annual national one-day conference which is being held at the Metropole Hotel Birmingham.
This month, Sight Care meetings took place in Manchester, Stirling, Newcastle, Leicester, Cambridge, Slough, Belfast, Gatwick, Bristol and Exeter.
The theme for the meetings was 'Differentiation Ð achieving competitive advantage'. Speakers included David Samuel, managing director of Eyesite Opticians chain, and sports vision expert Geraint Griffiths.
Sight Care Group, the independent practice support business, has reported that attendance at its autumn evening meetings has increased significantly.
