The Sight Care Group has reported that 'significant interest' was generated as a result of its presence at this year's Optrafair

According to the group's chief executive Paul Surridge, independents who visited were serious about their desire to join. 'Many were concerned that the competitiveness of the market made it difficult for them to compete without help, and in some cases were disappointed with assistance from other support organisations.'

At the show the group offered 18 months' membership for the cost of 12. The offer has been extended to include those who join by June 1 2007.

The business support organisation said this week that it picked up leads for 100 new members during the three-day exhibition.
