silmoExhibitors and practitioners are gearing up for this year's Silmo, Europe's second biggest optical event, taking place from October 27-30.

The four-day event will again be held at the Porte de Versailles in Paris and is expected to attract over 44,000 professionals, marginally more than last year's show.

More than 1,000 international exhibitors will be showcasing the latest stylistic and technological developments including 30 UK exhibitors, such as Booth & Bruce, Dunelm, Inspecs, Kirk Originals, Mondottica and William Morris Eyewear.

For the first time, Continental Eyewear will have two stands, one to showcase its complete collection and another in the fashion-focused 'village' for its X-eyes line. Neal Grimason, sales and marketing director said: 'Having two exhibition stands at this major international event is very ambitious. However, with the reaction we have been receiving at home and abroad to X-eyes we are confident of having a very successful show.'
