Siltint gets military approval

Manchester-based lens coating specialist Siltint has launched Safire2, a durable and highly efficient anti-reflection coating for all plastic lenses.

A determination to achieve maximum adhesion, long-term stability and a low-level of reflections led to Safire2 being approved for use in military applications.

Siltint's advanced aspheric lenses, which are incorporated into the latest high-tech night-vision goggles, are now coated with Safire2.

Siltint commercial director Adam Brierley said: 'Our new extended quality control procedures applied throughout the production chain ensure consistently high standards.

Its military approval illustrates the improvements we have made and highlights our emphasis on quality and our determination to meet the demands placed on us by the ophthalmic market.'
