Sivantos releases new range of hearing aids

Sivantos has released a new range of hearing aids designed for patients with severe to profound hearing loss.

The Power series within the Signia range of products comprises receiver-in-canal (RIC) devices like the Signia Cellion and Carat and powerful behind-the-ear (BTE) units including the Motion SP, catering for a broad spectrum of audiological needs.

More than one in 10 people who are hard of hearing were said to suffer from severe to profound hearing loss. Without exceptionally powerful devices, they cannot adequately comprehend their acoustic environment and cannot communicate well enough with others.

The new Motion SP is available in six colours and is powered by 675 series batteries. At 141dB, it features the highest amplification performance in the Power series. It can be also equipped with an audio shoe for direct audio input.

The Signia Carat RIC device sits behind the ear. It is available in 13 colours and can be operated with standard size 13 batteries, or optionally with rechargeable batteries. Cellion, also a RIC model, is contactless rechargeable with lithium-ion battery and can now be adjusted with uprated power receivers.

All Signia hearing aids for pronounced hearing loss are based on the Primax platform, which includes proprietary technologies including SpeechMaster and TwinPhone.

SpeechMaster aids comprehension with binaural directionality that focuses automatically on the conversation partner and highlights speech regardless of where it comes from and whether it is overlaid with other noises. TwinPhone automatically transfers the sound from a handset or smartphone to both hearing aids as soon as the telephone is held to the ear. Using this feature, telephone conversations were said to be much easier to understand and a narrow focus directional microphone function helps a patient understand a conversation partner in noisy environments, even with competing speech signals.
