Smart SV lens uses As-Worn

Shamir is offering an enhanced version of its Smart Single Vision lens design with its As-Worn technology upgrade.

The firm said the enhancement was made by personalising the lens through the use of additional measurements which are supplied by the optical practice along with the patient's prescription.

By submitting the back vertex distance, the pantoscopic tilt and the panoramic angle of the frame, Shamir said the manufacture of the lens could be fine-tuned. The SV As-Worn lens also uses an aspheric and atoric rear surface which allows the lens to be made thinner and lighter and improves clarity by minimising off-centre errors. The improved design is available in all materials from June 1.
