Roberto Cavalli's ophthalmic collection goes from strength to strength, drawing on serpentine influences and tattoo-like detailing, with extremely feminine designs in both acetate and metal.
The RC142 (pictured) has temple features that bring to mind a Moorish tattoo. It has a bold square front, with a rich working of warm colours: a grey horn effect, walnut, gloss black and a transparent red. But it is the snake that has a leading role in the new Cavalli collection. The RC145, for example, features deep metal temples which have been cut out to reveal a meandering snake thread, studded with strass. The range is dominated by square shapes, softened at the corners, as well as some 'cat-like' styles.
