Snap Spectacles investigates melting wires case

Snap’s video capturing sunglasses Snap Spectacles have been found to catch fire while charging.

After charging the sunglass case for half an hour, one owner returned to find the internal wires had melted into one.

Speaking to technology news website Tech Crunch, a Snap Inc spokesperson said: ‘Our team is in touch with this customer and we are working with him to investigate this issue. We can’t comment further until we know more, but want to emphasise that nothing is more important to us than the safety of our community.’

Snap, formerly known as Snapchat, announced it was rebranding last September as it introduced the sunglasses.
