Snap Spectacles renew smart glasses scene

Photo and video social media app Snapchat, now known as Snap, has announced plans to release video-capturing sunglasses called Spectacles.

By tapping a button on the top left-hand corner of the glasses, the Spectacles reportedly capture 10 seconds of film at a time and send it to your phone to post on Snapchat or send to friends. If a second tap of the button is made, 30 seconds of continuous video will be recorded.

Available in one size in black, teal and coral, their cameras have a 115-degree lens in an attempt to mimic the way the human eyes see.

Videos are stored on the Spectacles until transferred to the companion app on a smartphone, over Wi-Fi for Android and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for iOS.
