Soft skirt to benefit Scottish hopeful

Former Rugby World Record Holder Jamie McKee has been sponsored by Wesley Jessen to wear its Softperm lenses as he aims to achieve his goal of playing for Scotland by the year 2000.

McKee's international career began at the age of 18 with the Hong Kong senior team, for whom he kicked 17 conversions in a record performance at the Asian Rugby Football Tournament held in Kuala Lumpar. The Softperm lenses have a gas-permeable centre for vision quality, with a soft surrounding skirt for comfort and stability. Mr McKee was fitted with the lenses by central London-based optometrist Neil Cox. Wesley Jessen has launched a 'Totem pole' illuminated display system to advertise coloured contact lenses and educate customers on lens types and colour options available. The company states that the system saves chair time and increases sales. Marketing manager Ruth Dwyer said that trials in France and the UK last year led to significant increases in sales of colour contact lenses. For details, contact 0870 608 2020.
