Rowena Naylor-Morrell, regional manager for Action for Blind People, said funded emotional support projects were often localised and 'do not inform the bigger thinking of a region or country, often creating a post-code lottery'.

Naylor-Morrell gave Derbyshire as an example where one part-time person helps with the emotional needs of those registered blind in the region. She said investment for people with sight loss should follow the integrated model for investment in mental health for older people.
