A national launch of Road Safety Week was held at Conisborough College in South London earlier this week.
The event focused on the dangers of multi-tasking while driving with particular reference to the use of mobile phones, while sponsors Specsavers renewed its calls for regular vision checks.
Paul Carroll, director of professional services at Specsavers, said: ‘It is important for us that our efforts to make the UK’s roads safer aren’t restricted to one week. This year we also launched the Sharpen Up campaign, in conjunction with Brake, which called for all drivers to have eye examinations at least once every two years.’
