Hundreds of books have been donated to a local hospice through a campaign that followed World Book Day in March.

Specsavers Bury St Edmunds organised a month-long collection of new and used books, which were donated to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and St Nicholas Hospice.

Marc Mitchell, store director of Specsavers Bury St Edmunds said: ‘Reading is a great way for us to escape into other worlds. When someone is affected by a long-term serious illness, picking up a good book can sometimes provide a few moments of welcome relief. We’re delighted to be able support this worthy cause.’
