A judge has ruled that a former Specsavers store director was subjected to elements of unfair prejudice and reductions in dividend value by her former business partner and Specsavers Optical Group (SOG). But he ruled that there was no conspiracy to remove her as a shareholder.
In a wide-ranging petition brought by Swarandeep Birdi in October last year she alleged that actions carried out by SOG had a detrimental effect on the value of her shares and that there had been a conspiracy against her by ex-business partner Kamaljit Singh and the SOG loss prevention department following a suspension.
Optometrist Birdi became a shareholder store director in 2000 alongside dispensing optician Nimesh Patel at the multiple’s Dartford, Kent, branch.
