Specsavers opens 1000th practice

Specsavers opened its 1000th UK and Irish practice in Harpenden on April 8, 40 years after opening its first practice.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by co-founder Dame Mary Perkins, former rugby player Hugo Monye, and Mayor of Harpenden Fiona Gaskell.

Practice director Lewis Carroll said: ‘Creating this practice has been such a fulfilling journey. Having the pleasure to watch residents go by while we added our touches to the practice has given me a real sense of what the town is all about.’

The new practice has four optical testing rooms and a dual audiology room, with the team also offering optical coherence tomography as part of a £350,000 investment.
