Specsavers reaches accord with former Visionplus directors

Specsavers Opticians has reached an agreement with two former directors ahead of a planned industrial tribunal hearing (News, November 28 2003).

A statement has been issued by the two former directors of Stratford Visionplus Ltd, Richard Quail and Anthony Okenabirhie, which has been agreed by Specsavers Optical Group.
The statements confirm that Quail and Okenabirhie were employed by Stratford Visionplus from January 1996 until May 2003 and by East Ham Visionplus from May 1998 until May 2003 as optician directors. During the same period both were shareholders in and directors of Stratford Specsavers and East Ham Specsavers respectively.
Both statements continued: 'Owing to irreconcilable differences between [Quail/Okenabirhie] and the SOG Group on the division of responsibilities in the shareholders agreement, [Quail/Okenabirhie] and the SOG Group came to a mutually satisfactory agreement to bring their relationship to an end on May 15 2003.
'Specsavers has thanked [Quail/Okenabirhie] for his contribution over the last eight years and has wished him well for the future.'
