​Specsavers’ largest practice undergoes major refurbishment

Specsavers’ largest practice has undergone a major refurbishment lasting five months – expanding the store to relocate non-retail employee areas of the business into a newly created lower floor.

Specsavers Sutton-in-Ashfield, at the Idlewells Shopping Centre, now has an expanded pre-scanning area with OCT. A ‘snug’ area (pictured) and staff room with table football and a pool table had also been built.

The practice has dedicated DVLA and field test areas, and increased space for enhanced optical services (EOS) and diabetic screening.

Its new lower floor included a glazing lab and a call centre, as well as a large training room to host sessions for optometrists across the region. The practice also planned to have its own academy, a statement said.
