Specsavers reached a milestone for its clinical technician scheme as two optical assistants from the Headingley practice became the 200th and 201st people to complete the training.
Monica Kaur and Michelle Wilks received training on diagnostic information gathering and pre-assessment procedures working under optometrist supervision.
Kanwaljit Singh, optometry partner at Specsavers Headingly, said: ‘Monica and Michelle’s confidence with explaining the benefit of OCT and capturing images has grown considerably and this has directly impacted both patient understanding and quality of results.’
Kaur and Wilks commented that they were better able to support clinics and communicate with patients about the pre-screening process.
