From next week, Specsavers' £25 entry point Star Price Range single-vision glasses will include Pentax lenses and scratch-resistant coating, in a bid to get customers through the door as the credit crunch begins to bite.
The multiple also said that it had increased the number of products available in the Star Price Range to 152 styles.
Commenting on the announcement, Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins said: 'We have long been a champion of value for money eye care and having introduced a new price point in January, have now improved this offer to include a free scratch-resistant coating, which reflects our continued commitment to serve the nation as Britain's most trusted optician.'
