Specsavers takes MiniPAC online during pandemic

Specsavers has turned its regional conference series into a free online learning tool for practitioners during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

MiniPAC was due to host over 2,000 optometrists, dispensing and contact lens opticians at 13 events between March and May but the events have either been cancelled or rescheduled.

As a result, the multiple has made turned the conferences into an online training programme including recorded lectures and quizzes until the end of the year.

Gill Robinson, director of professional training and development, said: ‘Introducing regional MiniPAC events alongside our flagship conference was always about making high quality, relevant CET as accessible to as many practitioners as possible – and this is no different. Circumstances mean that delegates can’t come to us, so we have used technology to reach out to them.’
