Statement from CIBA Vision

CIBA Vision, the only contact lens company to emerge unscathed in this week’s Which? report into the pricing of daily and longer wear lenses, has issued the following response:

CIBA Vision is pleased that the Which? article recognises that the references to manufacturers producing identical monthly and daily lenses do not in any way apply to CIBA Vision products.

'Focus Dailies are made using a unique material and proprietary manufacturing process which is not used in the manufacture of any other lens type' said Mark Draper, UK Professional Marketing Manager at CIBA Vision. 

'We would like to confirm that Focus Dailies were designed from the very outset to provide their maximum comfort when used for one day only and we would like to reiterate that patients should not attempt to wear their Focus Dailies for more than the prescribed time.

'It is very important that consumers follow the advice of their eye care professional for the health of their eyes. Eye care practitioners should determine both the lens type and wearing regimen for each individual patient based on their eye health needs' said Draper.
