StaySafe app aims to protect domiciliary workers

OutsideClinic has invested in the StaySafe mobile app for its domiciliary workers to ensure safety during home visits.  

The free StaySafe app is a cloud-based monitoring service using GPS tracking technology to monitor the location of lone workers and sends alerts to the OutsideClinic control centre if a worker fails to check in on time. A panic button can also send an alert to the control centre if workers feel threatened or in danger. 

OutsideClinic said this was a response to ensure the safety and security of its employees, especially as home-based healthcare services continue to grow and the GOC's 2022 Registrant Workforce and Perceptions Survey highlighted that over half of UK optometrists are female.
