Leading ophthalmic and public health figures have come together to form a new steering group which will oversee the first Ophthalmic Public Health Network, LOCSU has announced.
The group will provide advice to ensure that the new network will be an effective resource for all those working on, or interested in, ophthalmic public health. The network will look to work with NHS commissioners, health and wellbeing boards, providers, public health experts and academic departments.
LOCSU's director of operations and commissioning Katrina Venerus said: 'News that the government has made a commitment to include a measure of eye health in the national public health priorities for England has underlined the need for an Ophthalmic Public Health Network to share expertise, data and innovation.'
