Stop press: optom enters guilty plea

As optician went to press the optometrist charged with murder changed his plea to guilty (see page 4 story) according to the Press Association.
The news group reported that Narendra Tailor sobbed in court as he was re-arraigned so he could change his plea. The jury, on the direction of Judge Michael Stokes found the defendant guilty of murder, it reported on September 28, and he told the court: 'Narendra Tailor will be remanded into custody to await sentence at the end of the trial.'
However, he advised the jury that Tailor's plea should not affect the trial of part-time Manjinder Binning, who is also accused of the murder of Sheila Tailor. Binning has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
