Student dispensing optician removed from GOC registers

Student dispensing optician Anuradha Sharma has been erased from GOC registers

London-based student dispensing optician Anuradha Sharma has been erased from General Optical Council (GOC) registers after a fitness to practise committee heard she fraudulently accrued Boots Advantage Card points.

The panel heard that Sharma transferred customers’ Advantage Card points to her own card account and credited points from a single purchase to her account multiple times.

Ian Crookall, chair of the committee, said: ‘The committee found that there is a high risk of repetition. The dishonesty occurred repeatedly and only ceased when she was caught. The registrant has never admitted that she did behave dishonestly, nor has she apologised for her behaviour.’
