Interest is growing in a summer conference and exhibition organised by a south west local optometric committee.
Next month’s Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LOC’s inaugural event has attracted 16 exhibitors, and a spokesman for the gathering has claimed the profession is eager to the chance to meet in the south west.
‘Companies have welcomed the opportunity to be able to support an event in the south west away from some of the more traditional CET venues,’ he said. ‘Also welcomed is the structure of the event, which includes a free evening reception for all delegates and local optical professionals, allowing practitioners to chat to exhibitors in a more relaxed and less time-pressured environment.’
He said the LOC was pleased with the wide range of companies which have committed themselves to the event.
Exhibitors are: Bausch & Lomb, CIBA, Continental Eyewear, CooperVision, Foresight Eyecare Programmes, Grafton, Keeler, Maui Jim, National Eycare Group, No 7, Norville, Optinet, Quincey Eyewear, Relcon, Topcon and Zeiss.
The conference and exhibition will take place on July 15-16 at the £14m Knowledge Spa at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
