Asda has announced nine more sites for its vision centres which provide a full optical offer.
At the start of the year the Wal-Mart-owned business revealed it would establish 50 in-store optical departments and create 200 new jobs in the profession within 12 months (News, January 26).
Currently there are 14 outlets offering eye examinations, a range of frames and contact lens fitting.
The company has vision centres in Eastleigh, Leicester, Docklands, Havant, Bristol Patchway, Minworth (Sutton Coldfield), Greenhithe, Barnsley, Ipswich, Hull, Horwich, Hyde, Nuneaton and Scunthorpe.
Openings planned in the next few weeks include centres at Dundee, Portlethen, Bury, Eastbourne, Mansfield, Leyton, Pudsey, Chadderton and Crewe.
