This second course in the series designed for support staff will use a combination of lectures, workshops and discussion sessions on contact lens insertion and removal techniques. Course director Sarah Morgan said that the programme was designed for staff with some contact lens experience who wanted to learn more about contact lens care and gain confidence in lens handling. 'The day will be packed with top tips and information for teaching the contact lens wearer,' she said. Other topics covered will be aftercare, the importance of spectacles, wearing schedules and the 'dos and don'ts' of contact lens wear. Subsequent courses in the series will offer more advanced product information for the experienced receptionist. According to Ms Morgan, receptionists play a key role in the success of any contact lens business. 'Support staff are in the front line of managing patient queries and need to be equipped with the knowledge to deal with patients efficiently and effectively,' she said. 'I consider these courses to be a great way of motivating your staff.' The 'Confident Contacts 2' course will be held at the Thistle Lancaster Gate Hotel in central London on Tuesday, February 20, and at Le Meridien Queen's Hotel in Leeds on Tuesday, March 6.
