Survey investigates physical activity habits of visually impaired

The impact of Covid-19 on the physical activity habits of blind or visually impaired people is being investigated

Researchers at Anglia Ruskin University are investigating how Covid-19 is affecting the physical activity of people who are blind or visually impaired.

An online survey has been set up to gauge how physical activity habits have changed since the lockdown began in March, with UK adults living with a visual impairment invited to take part.

It aims to understand the changes that have taken place in order to provide better support for the group of people now and in the future.

Dr Dan Gordon, study lead, former GB Paralympian and principal lecturer in exercise physiology at Anglia Ruskin University, said: ‘Everyone has had to make significant changes to how they live their lives, but adjusting to changes in daily routines can take time for people with visual impairments.
