Survey reveals lack of CL fitting confidence

Nearly nine out of 10 contact lens practitioners believe their fitting skills could be improved and a higher proportion of optometrists (89 per cent) agree with this statement than dispensing opticians (81 per cent).

This is one of the key findings of research by Optician and the Association of Contact Lens Manufacturers on the current status of contact lens provision in the UK. Data for the survey were collated via a self-completion questionnaire mailed to a random sample of DOs and OOs from the Opticians Register. Nearly 800 replies were received and of these 76 per cent were from OOs and 24 per cent from DOs.
