Independent optometrist Suzanne Dennis in Eccleston and Coppull has been inundated with books for its Big Book Swap, launched one month ago.
The Big Book Swap runs from March to April in aid of eye health charities Galloways Society for the Blind, The Macular Society, RNIB and RP Fighting Blindness.
Members of the public have been dropping off books at Suzanne Dennis’ Parbold practice ranging from autobiographies and childrens’ books to cookery and fiction.
Passers by were encouraged to call in and browse the selection and donate 50p for any book they wanted to take home and read.
Dennis said: ‘We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of existing and new patients. With another month to go, we hope the money we raise will go a long way to help these worthwhile charities.
