Four Suzanne Dennis Optometrist practices have raised over £400 for local blind charities thanks to kind-hearted patients who participated in a book-swapping event. Patients were encouraged to bring in their unwanted books and donate 50p for any book they wanted to take home and read.
Optometrist Suzanne Dennis (pictured) said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to have raised so much money for these worthwhile charities. It proved extremely successful and we hope the diverse range of books we were given encouraged more people to pick up a book and read.’
Proceeds will be distributed evenly between Galloways Society for the Blind, The Macular Society, RNIB and RP Fighting Blindness.
