A week-long charity fundraising campaign has seen a group of Lancashire optometrists raise £1,300 to support research into brain haemorrhages.
Suzanne Dennis Optometrist hosted a series of workshops across their three practices, raising awareness about brain haemorrhages and promoting the importance of monitoring blood pressure among the public.
Joe Higham, co-director of Suzanne Dennis, said: ‘Optometrists are in a unique position to detect changes in the blood vessels in the eye, which can indicate issues like high blood pressure – conditions that are linked to brain haemorrhages.’
As part of the event, Suzanne Dennis pledged to donate £50 to the Natalie Kate Moss Trust (NKMT) for every spectacle purchased over £399.
