Textbooks donated to Greek optometrists

Former Optician clinical editor Bill Harvey donated 33 optometry books to the Greek Hellenic Academy of Optometry library.

The HAO is non-profit organisation for optometrists in Greece and one of its educational projects is an optics and optometry library available to HAO members and students.

Optometrist Christos Papageorgiou, who Harvey previously taught at City University, said the organisation was formed to raise public awareness about vision care and to promote optometry in Greece.

‘Raising professional standards, providing guidance and striving for clinical excellence are at the core of our mission. To achieve these goals, we also organize two educational events per year and have published manuals on contact lenses and low vision,’ he added.
