Thanks a Million campaign helps custody officer

Custody officer receives free laser eye surgery courtesy of campaign

Burton was assaulted by a prisoner during a shift and had her glasses broken. She signed up to the campaign, which rewards emergency services workers with free laser eye surgery and no longer needs glasses.

She said: ‘I am so glad I was selected for Thanks a Million and have seen my confidence skyrocket at work now I no longer wear glasses. Being five-foot one and wearing glasses made me feel like a target to the prisoners who didn’t fully respect me, but now I feel way more confident to handle difficult situations.’
