The running manager

Independent practice manager ran the Great Birmingham Run for Marie Curie

Leigh Williams, dispensing optician and practice manager at Edmonds & Slatter in Lutterworth, ran the Great Birmingham Run on May 1 to raise money for Marie Curie.

Williams ran his second half marathon in memory of his father-in-law, Pappy, who recently passed away from cancer. He selected Marie Curie as his chosen charity because of the end of life care given to Pappy by its nurses.

Williams commented: ‘Nothing was too much trouble for them. For those who do not have a support network, Marie Curie nurses are literally angels and I wanted to give something back for the priceless gift we had in the hope someone else who needs an angel gets one when they need one.’
