Tinted medical glasses could help colour blind

Researchers in the US claim to have developed spectacles which can reduce the effects of red-green colour blindness.

2AI Labs' Oxy-Iso glasses, part of the O2Amp range, were developed to help doctors identify veins and bruising, but after a new test in the UK, the scientists believe they have an additional benefit in enhancing the ability to see red and green.

Daniel Bor, a neurologist at the University of Sussex, who is red-green colour blind, volunteered to test the spectacles after Mark Chanigzi, co-inventor of the Oxy-Iso glasses, said he began to receive letters from people with red-green colour blindness who had noticed that the glasses helped their vision.
