
The team at Tompkins, Knight & Son (TK&S) Optometrists in Northampton held a launch event in June to showcase the potential of Ray-Ban Meta glasses for individuals living with sight loss.
The frames supported those with vision impairments using Meta AI by providing real-time descriptions of the wearer’s surroundings.
They were also integrated with the ‘Be My Eyes’ service, allowing users to connect with a live assistant who described what the lenses were seeing.
Brian Tompkins, director at TK&S Optometrists, said: ‘It’s not often I’m blown away by frame technology, but this range has the potential to completely reinvent the way we think about spectacles. It’s a huge jump in terms of what eyewear can offer a patient.’
