Topcon telehealth platform rolls out in EMEA

Technology Education

Following a late 2020 launch in the US, Topcon has rolled out its RDx telehealth platform in the EMEA region.

The web-based solution allows practitioners to connect and control Topcon CV-5000 digital phoropters and securely perform refractions from any location.

RDx imports autorefractor and lensmeter data and presents a refraction starting point on the phoropter to optimise the eye exam with integrated face-to-face communication between practitioner and patient.

Integration with data management software, Topcon Harmony, also enables the optometrist to access the patient’s examination history and facilitates easy viewing and analysis of all examination data in one place.

‘At Topcon Healthcare, we are dedicated to delivering intelligent solutions that streamline the way eye care professionals work. Topcon RDx tackles the pressing issues of staff shortages and limited access to primary eye care services in remote areas,’ said Topcon Healthcare sales and business development director, Riina Rautee.

‘By seamlessly addressing these challenges, the solution empowers busy eye care providers to overcome resource limitations while ensuring the quality of refraction examinations remains uncompromised.

‘This innovative technology opens up new possibilities for optimising resources and facilitating faster access to essential eye care services. We are thrilled to introduce this ground-breaking technology to the EMEA region,’ added Rautee.
