Trust gears up for national eye week

To help raise the public profile of optics during this year's National Eye Health Week (June 13-19), the Eyecare Trust plans to launch a guide to summer eye care as well as publishing a vision supplement in The Guardian newspaper.

The charity also intends to attend regional eye health events, produce a practitioner resource pack and offer advice and information on its website and Twitter feed.

The summer eye care guide will include expert advice on what to look for when buying sunglasses, how certain diets can boost UV protection, treating seasonal ailments such as hay fever and handy eye health tips for travellers.
