As part of World Glaucoma Day on March 12, the Eyecare Trust is asking practitioners to become involved in a public information campaign highlighting the importance of diagnosing the condition before symptoms become visible.

Entitled 'Ignorance may be bliss, but it could leave you blind', the campaign will invite the public to take a simple online test. Anyone at high risk of the disease will then be urged to take urgent action. During the campaign the Trust's website (www.eyecaretrust.org.uk) will also feature an interactive vision simulator illustrating how the disease affects vision, a downloadable fact sheet, general advice and information about the condition and a 'living with glaucoma' case study.

The Trust has also produced a marketing toolkit to help practitioners participate in the campaign. Go to www.eyecaretrust.org.uk/friends_main.php to download the resources.
