Two optometrists played a key role in the rescue of an injured climber while holidaying on the Isle of Skye.
Ronald and Susan Howie were descending from the south ridge of the Cullin mountain range when Mrs Howie witnessed a fellow climber fall approximately 25 feet down a steep rock face.
After a short search the married couple located the fallen climber in a gully and assessed his condition.
The climber was unable to walk having suffered a head wound and ankle injury in the fall, so the Howies stabilised his position on the mountain before trying to contact help using a mobile phone.
