Urquhart Opticians hosts training day in Kilmarnock

Urquhart Opticians, a network of 13 Hakim Group independent practices across Scotland, set the tone for the year with their annual training day at the Park Hotel in Kilmarnock.

The event brought together around 80 team members, alongside colleagues from sister practices – Purcell Opticians, Kidner Opticians and Shaw Eyecare.

Centred on the theme of ‘marginal gains’ - inspired by James Clear’s book Atomic Habits – the day featured sessions on the value of Enhanced Eye Exams and shifting the focus from selling to serving.

Co-director and optometrist Alistair Duff reflected on the importance of the training day and said: ‘This event is about more than training – it’s about building a sense of community and collective purpose.
