At a recent Vision Aid Overseas weekend, the charity honoured one of its most loyal members and said farewell to its founder who has stepped down from the board.
Frank Norville, chairman of The Norville Group, has supported VAO since it started. The charity acknowledged his dedication by presenting him with the award of Honorary Life Membership. Tym Marsh, director of VAO, said: 'Frank's commitment to VAO has been outstanding. We are delighted to honour him in this way.
On behalf of all our patients and everyone involved in VAO, I would like to say how grateful we are. His efforts have made a real difference'. VAO founder Brian Ellis MBE has stepped down from the board but will continue to be involved in the charity on an informal basis.
Deputy director Jeremy Jalie said: 'It was his vision that started all the work we do today.' VOA's Felicity Harding is pictured with Norville (centre) and Ellis.
